The secret to love is not found in religion or rule. A person can be attending church and not have love for his neighbor. According to David Jeremiah, if someone is in need, the true neighbor would be sensitive to meet their need and be willing to help, this definition of a good neighbor/samaritan came from Jesus Christ in Luke 10:25-37. Hence, a neighbor is someone willing to help.
A True Christian is an Obedient Christian
Sometimes we justify our disobedience by saying that we are accountable only to God. But God said that we should submit to our leaders such us our Pastors, Youth Leader, Elders and others. As it is stated in Titus 1:5 the reason they are over us is to straighten us and put our life in order. They are accountable to God and we are accountable to them, this is what discipleship is all about. In John 10, those who are obedient are the true followers of Christ. Obedience is also the essence of true leader, a perfect example is Jesus Christ who died on the cross in obedience to God.
1 Cor 2:9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him.
